After a lengthy wait, Sean Crowe was deemed elected on the first count in DSW, retaining his seat. He described the win as a "huge endorsement for change". Crowe received 20,077 votes (29.7% first preference) in Dublin South West, smashing the quota of 11,261. His surplus of 8,816 is now being distributed. Expected to take some time. First count underway. Following 100% of the boxes opened in South Central, Sinn Fein's Aengus O'Snodaigh was way ahead with 38% of the vote. The chasing pack features three candidates on 11% - outgoing TD's Catherine Byrne (FG), Brid Smith (PBP) and Senator Catherine Ardagh (FF), with Patrick Costello (GP) on 9% and outgoing TD Joan Collins on 6%
